  Worked for bata distributors in australia many years ago, they gave new meaning to incompetence. Couldnt wait for them to fire me, and they couldnt even do that properly. Shoes were a cut above JUNK level!! For some reason especially brogue shoes. Their heels would literalky turn to powder!!!!!!. Went on to become ceo and md of multi billion dollar companies

  Was speaking with a lovely and fun woman woth my partner. She had greta service, knowledge and was honest about shoe selection. Haven't been to Bata since my dad took me as a kid, so it's nice to know the core elements are not lost in time.

  The “Factory” store at Mornington used to be good. I bought lots of shoes ther several years ago. I tried again a year later and they seemed more like a $2 disposal shop for cheaply made shoes from China.
  
  Sadly it is now not worth going to. They “stock” whatever came in in the last shipping container. They blame supply issues, but that excuse is wearing thin.
  
  The range of products is much reduced, and the sizes of the men’s shoes are for very narrow feet, plus the quality is slipping..
