    Poor service, poor communication - all about the money. Have asked them repeatedly to take a home insurance policy off my name it has nothing to do with me and I am still waiting. Back on hold with them again today.

    Worst experience. They write your car as not drive able on small damage so get your car fixed by yourself if you are going for it. More than that you need to pay whole year payment with it. Don’t forget you still need to pay the excess fee. Also if your car value is more than you entered into the system at time of registration then imagine what will you get. So what’s the point of buying comprehensive insurance. Car current value:4000 in system:2800 access fee: 1050 insurance to be paid:600 you are left with 1000and some. What’s the point of comprehensive insurance then. Regret being with Aami. Thank you Aami.

    On 7th May 2021 around 4pm, my partner and I were stuck on Great ocean road due to a flat tyre and the spare one did not have the right amount of pressure. I called AAMI after waiting for about 30 mins a lady answered the phone. I explained my situation to her. She then confirmed my details including the contact number and said someone will help you shortly and hung up. Then I received a text along with a link where I was suppose to submit a form so that AAMI can find my location and call me back. It was already 5 :30 by then and no response from AAMI. Since it was getting dark and it wasn’t safe to wait there we got in touch with RACV. 2 MINS AFTER CALLING RACV A MAN ANSWERED THE CALL. WE EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND HE SAID IF YOU ARE NOT A RACV MEMBER WE CANNOT HELP WHICH WAS FAIR ENOUGH. SINCE AAMI WAS STILL TAKING IT’S OWN SWEET TIME WE WERE LEFT WITH NO OTHER OPTION. WE REGISTERED FOR THE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND IN 45 MINS THE PERSON WAS AT THE SPOT. THE GUY OVER THE PHONE ALSO ASSURED NOT TO WORRY AND TRY TO STAY CALM. HE WAS FULLY EQUIPPED AS WELL SINCE THE CAR BATTERY ALSO DIED ON US. HE FILLED THE AIR IN OUR SPARE ONE AND APPROXIMATELY WITHIN AND HOUR AFTER GETTING IN TOUCH WITH RACV WE WERE BACK ON THE ROAD. AAMI WAS STILL SEARCHING MY LOCATION TILL MY PHONE BATTERY DIED ON ME. APART FROM AAMI NOT BEING ABLE TO HELP IT’S OWN CUSTOMERS THEY ALSO LOST THE FACE VALUE OVER RACV. OR IS THIS BECOME A ROUTINE FOR YOU??? THIS TRUE NEGLIGENCE FROM AAMI WOULD HAVE COST US OUR LIVES AS THAT PLACE GETS SO DESERTED ONE CANNOT BE LEFT STRANDED THERE EVEN FOR 2 MINS. IT WAS ALSO MY PARTNER’S BIRTHDAY.
    I CALLED AAMI THIS MORNING AND EXPLAINED MY ORDEAL. THE LADY OVER THE PHONE GAVE ME LAME REASONS SAYING THE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE TEAM WOULD HAVE BEEN BUSY OR I DID NOT CONTACT ON THE RIGHT NUMBER. SO MUCH FOR PAYING $1000 ANNUALLY TO AAMI.
    I’M LUCK I WILL NO LONGER BE WITH AAMI.

    Insured my engagement ring, listed item as per valuation AGIL certificate of $7000 (Natural 1ct Solitaire Round Cut VS2 D on a WG Tiffany setting). Paid insurance premiums on reflected valuation. When I unfortunately had to make a claim, their independent valuer offered a few options and Valuation.
    Valuation of $3000
    1. A lab grown replacement
    2. Replacement thru them upto 3k
    3. Try to source equivalent from original supplier
    Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have paid to insure this item for the certified value if it wasn't going to be honoured. Either way, something to keep in mind.

    Avoid AAMI (home and contents) insurance like the plague. They'll do anything to make the claim process as difficult as possible to deter you from ever claiming again. Or, you'll change insurers. Whichever comes first.

    "An amount of $1216 has been approved for the damaged PC. You'll receive the payment directly into the nominated account."

    - Just now -
    AAMI Case Manager, Michael Chang:
    "The amount of $1216 has been rejected and we're going to have to get another quote."

    Seriously, which is it?!
